The saga of Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall took another dramatic turn recently. Jones recently floated a potential showdown against the light heavyweight king Alex Pereira. This frustrated the interim champion, and Aspinall couldn’t hide his exasperation at being overlooked yet again.

He posted a picture of Jones with a whimsical expression. This was in response to Jones’ comments that Aspinall was only famous in the UK while Pereira was a worldwide star.
The whole point of the interim title is to be the next person to face the champion. Logically, fighting Aspinall should be Jones’ next step. However, Jones would fight Miocic next and Aspinall is left without a chance to unify the belts. Moreover, Aspinall is also set to fight at UFC 304 in Manchester against an undisclosed opponent.Â
