Conor McGregor‘s rivalry against Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team is undoubtedly one of the nastiest in the history of UFC. In the past, both teams have indulged in some serious encounters involving physical altercations, injuries, etc. However, the current lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev doesn’t think that was enough.
Makhachev recently interviewed with ESPN MMA where he talked about his team fighting McGregor’s team on the streets. Islam Makhachev also mentioned how in the past Khabib Nurmagomedov destroyed McGregor and attacked his team.
When we meet his team…in the streets somewhere and we have good fight…We just want to beat them and finish all talks….Team versus Team. It’s gonna be more interesting because already Khabib beat him in the cage, beat his corner. But team versus team, maybe we can make Ultimate fighting.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor fought each other at UFC 229. The ‘Eagle’ did what he predicted and finished McGregor via submission. However, what happened after was one of the most iconic as well as infamous moments in MMA. To this day, it is one of the most talked about incidents in the history of the promotion.

Leading up to the fight there was a lot of trash talking between both the teams. This led Nurmagomedov to lose his cool and jump over the octagon to fight McGregor’s team in the stands. At the same time, Nurmagomedov’s team fought a defeated McGregor inside the octagon. After the brawl was over, the Dagestani was denied the opportunity to take his belt as Dana White feared that it wasn’t the safest decision.

Khabib Nurmagomedov attracted a lot of criticism for jumping over the fence from many fight fans and experts. As a result of the incident, the NSAC fined Nurmagomedov a whopping $500,000 and nine months of suspension. Similarly, Conor McGregor was fined $50,000 and was suspended for six months.

After the fight, McGregor didn’t appear at the post-fight press conference. However, a clip from his documentary revealed what the Irishman felt after his defeat. The bad blood between these two fighters and their team is massive and it won’t be surprising to see it rekindle in the future.
