The UFC heavyweight division has been in the midst of vivid opinions coming from several fighters. This time, the UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has shed light on the current scenario of the division. The Dagestani champ seemingly disagrees with the UFC head honcho Dana White over Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic matchup.
The reigning UFC heavyweight champion will clash against former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. However, not many like the idea of this matchup. Even the current UFC 155 king, Islam Makhachev, has dropped his thoughts regarding this bout. Recently, in an interview with Hosheh MMA, the Dagestani fighter advocated in favor of Tom Aspinall to clash against Jones.

Aspinall has made a remarkable name for himself in the division with some of the most exciting victories over formidable opponents. Among these, the most recent was against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, where the Brit finished Blaydes in a minute.
The lightweight champ is just another guy who believes that Aspinall deserves to fight Jones. Even the British fighter, on several occasions, called out the heavyweight champ for the title unification bout. Nonetheless, Jones seemingly appears invested in the legacy fight against Stipe Miocic for now.

Meanwhile, Miocic hasn’t stepped inside the ring in the last three years. His last fight was against Francis Ngannou, where he lost by knockout. Considering the former heavyweight champions’ previous record, Aspinall feels Jones has picked an easier matchup for him. Interestingly, there’s a former UFC fighter who shares a similar opinion to Makhchev and disapproves Jones vs. Miocic matchup.
Dana White gets questioned for putting up Jon Jones against Stipe Miocic
The UFC CEO Dana White is known for putting out matchups between top fighters in the division. Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov is one such example that massively impacted UFC’s rise. However, as of now, former UFC fighter Ben Askren feels that the UFC boss’s weird fight matchup for Jon Jones.

However, now it remains to be seen when the UFC will officially announce the highly disapproved fight between Jones and Miocic.
