Ali Abdelaziz believes Islam Makhachev can beat Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, Alex Pereira etc (via Imago)
Islam Makhachev is regarded as the boogeyman of the UFC lightweight division. The Dagestani has destroyed everyone who has faced him. While Makhachev has the credentials to be one of the top fighters, his manager has elevated him above everyone else.
Ali Abdelaziz recently did an interview with Grind City Media. During the interview, the manager claimed Islam Makhachev was the current best combat sports athlete. According to Abdelaziz, Makhachev can beat the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, Alex Pereira etc.
Islam Makhachev right now is the greatest fighter living in combat sports right now P4P king. He can beat Usyk’s a*s Tyson Fury’s a*s, Anthony Joshua’s a*s, anybody…..Makhachev can beat the welterweight champion, the middleweight champion, right now. He might beat Alex Pereira too.

Islam Makhachev is currently the pound-for-pound number one MMA fighter in the world. Since his title win, Makhachev has defended his belt twice. As a manager, Ali Abdelaziz is expected to have confidence in his fighter. However, beating heavyweights such as Usyk and Fury might be a stretch.Â
Abdelaziz also mentioned that Makhachev can become the welterweight champion. Now, the fans would love to see Leon Edwards vs. Makhachev. However, there is one scenario that Abdelaziz would like to avoid as a manager.Â
Islam Makhachev vs. Belal Muhammad: A potential welterweight title bout
Islam Makhachev has frequently talked about his intentions to become a double champion. The fighter was even approached by the UFC to fight Leon Edwards at UFC 300. However, due to Ramadan, that fight didn’t happen. Now, Edwards is slated to fight Belal Muhammad at UFC 304, and it won’t be surprising to see Muhammad coming out victorious.
In that scenario, Makhachev will have to fight his training partner, Belal Muhammad, in a title fight. During an interview with ESPN, Makhachev revealed what would happen in that scenario.
Same manager easy to talk and we will make some decision. My goal to be double champ, it’s my dream. Anything can happen.Â

After asking for the title shot for such a long time, Muhammad finally got what he deserved. Going into the fight, ‘Remember The Name’ has great confidence in himself. On the other hand, Muhammad is currently training with Team Khabib and Islam Makhachev. Nevertheless, the upcoming two pay-per-view events might change the whole dynamics of the UFC.
