Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard have been beefing for quite some time. In fact, it was the Hall of Famer who starts throwing a tirade against his fellow NBA star whenever the two are spoken in the same sentence.
O’Neal takes offense whenever anyone calls Howard ‘Superman’. The 52-year-old has always made it clear that he is the original NBA ‘Superman’, therefore it is insulting to him whenever Howard is called by the same nickname.
His fellow former Los Angeles Lakers center has tried to pacify things between them in the past. He even suggested the two square it out in a boxing match. But Shaquille O’Neal disregarded the idea suggesting Howard wasn’t big enough a champion to face him.
Earlier while on The Gauds Show, Dwight Howard had the same thought when he told host Ray Daniels that he wants to sit down with O’Neal and work through their differences. However, it seems the clip of that conversation reached the four-time champion, who then took to X to write this.
“Do we need to throw hands?”
Former NBA player Dwight Howard reveals he’s willing to fight it out with Shaq and claims Shaq is behind the scenes blocking him from getting opportunities.

I know you care. Cuz yo insecure ass been hating and talking shit for 20 years. You to big to be this insecure. I hope you don’t bring my name up again. 52 years old tweeting me. And still hating. Now all this time you was joking. You always been jealous. Jealous of Kobe,…

Shaquille O’Neal added some hashtags in that post that suggested he did not care what Howard thought about him, or if he needed his validation. O’Neal added that he will respect Howard when his fellow center respects him, adding that he is dead to him.
Dwight Howard responds to Shaquille O’Neal
Since this was on X and O’Neal directly tagged Dwight Howard, it had to come to the attention of the former NBA Champion. All this while, the 39-year-old was trying to solve their beef with sane words. But it seems this latest post ticked him off, which led to this reply to O’Neal’s post.
Howard added in that reply that he felt these attacks proved to him that O’Neal was just jealous. He was jealous of the late great Kobe Bryant, of Dwyane Wade and Penny Hardaway. Now he is showing his jealousy towards Howard.
This latest reply had an aggressive tone that Dwight Howard has not used before towards O’Neal. It could be that he was constantly trying to bring peace, but the O’Neal does not seem to be backing down from his attacks. All this over the Superman nickname.
