Ian Garry brushes off attacks toward wife and family from 'mentally unwell' Sean Strickland

Sean Strickland is one of the most controversial fighters on the UFC roster. Due to his unapologetic persona, Strickland has had several beefs with other fighters in the promotion. One of them is the rising welterweight Ian Garry, who recently took a condescending jibe at ‘Tarzan.’

Ian Garry will compete at UFC 303 against opponent Michael ‘Venom’ Page. Ahead of the fight, Garry spoke about Sean Strickland. While responding, the ‘Future’ mentioned that he doesn’t want to add fuel to the old rivalry. On top of it, Garry made some bizarre claims about Strickland’s mental health.

There’s nothing that needs to be discussed when it comes to Sean Strickland. He’s just leave him be just let him go. I think he’s mentally unwell and having a breakdown publicly.

Sean Strickland and Ian Garry were involved in a nasty rivalry that involved Garry’s wife and her controversial book. Strickland publicly accused Garry’s wife of seducing rich athletes for benefits. Other than that, the former champion called Garry a c**k. It went to a point where the Irishman was eager to thrash Strickland in a potential fight inside the octagon.

Strickland hasn’t responded to Garry’s latest comments. However, seeing the fighter going on a full rant on the internet won’t be surprising. Nevertheless, Ian Garry is currently focused on what’s ahead of him and that’s Michael Page. While Garry doesn’t think MVP is a big challenge, Joe Rogan has a different opinion altogether.

Going into the fight, both Ian Garry and Michael Page have exchanged some verbal spat. Page isn’t a big fan of Garry and called him a BBL version of Conor McGregor. In retaliation, Garry refused to consider Page a legend of the sport despite his enormous experience. He then mocked Page’s long MMA career without winning a single championship belt.

Despite his lack of titles, Joe Rogan felt MVP could be full of surprises for Garry inside the octagon. Rogan recently talked about the fight on his podcast and mentioned that Garry would have to work really hard to defeat MVP in the fight.

I think he’s sensational, but he’s been hit before, and he’s gotten rocked and dropped. Michael ‘Venom’ Page is a different thing inside the octagon. I think he’s going to have a really hard time finding that guy.

MVP is an incredible striker and likes to fight from a distance and outpoint his opponents. In order to counter that, Garry will probably have to use his jiu-jitsu. Even fighters like Alexander Volkanovski have suggested the same game plan for the rising Irishman. Nevertheless, fans expect a massive showdown between two competitive fighters.
