Chael Sonnen is ready to take on Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match. Sonnen recently said on The MMA Hour that he was offered to become a backup fighter for the upcoming showdown between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal. However, Sonnen has an interesting plan in mind. Here is what happened:
Chael Sonnen recently sat down for a conversation with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. During their discussion, Helwani asked Sonnen if he was really offered the position of backup fighter for the Nate Diaz vs Jorge Masvidal boxing match. Sonnen revealed it was true.
I will fight Masvidal right now. He can use his right hand. He can kick me in the nuts, he can do anything he wants. I will be juiced up, and I will beat Jorge Masvidal anytime, but I won’t take the fight from Nate, and this is exactly what I told these jabrons.

Chael Sonnen and Jorge Masvidal‘s beef is known to all in the MMA community now. With the offer, Masvidal said that he would provide Sonnen with the biggest bag of his career and also promised not to throw his right hand. However, Sonnen took offense to these statements.
He said that those were just st*pid things to say for Masvidal. He said it made him not respect Masvidal as a businessman. Nonetheless, Sonnen said that Masvidal had to put it in the contract that he would pay Sonnen a bunch of money and would not hit him with his right hand.
Chael Sonnen will be a Hall of Famer soon, but he isn’t very excited
It was revealed at UFC 300 that Chael Sonnen’s fight with Anderson Silva will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Their rivalry is one worth immortalizing. The promotion declared that the UFC 117 showdown between the two UFC legends will be inducted into the Fight Wing this summer.
As honored as he might be, Chael Sonnen had an interesting perspective on this news. He revealed that he would not consider himself a Hall of Famer.
Would I consider? No, I wouldn’t. You either are or you aren’t. But no, I don’t think so. I think you have to go in, I don’t think a fight can go in. I don’t think that makes me a Hall of Famer, I think it makes a Hall of Fame fight. That’s always been my interpretation of it. The guys that go in separately, I feel like are in a different class.

Anderson Silva is already a Hall of Fame inductee. He got into the Pioneer Wing last year, and fellow rival Sonnen will follow through this year. The fact that Chael Sonnen is an iconic part of the UFC is undeniable. Even if Sonnen is not, his fans are definitely thrilled by the news.
