The Golden State Warriors coach, Steve Kerr, and forward Draymond Green have shared a decade-long professional relationship filled with both triumphs and challenges. Together, they have celebrated four NBA championships in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022, which has solidified Green’s status as a cultural icon in the basketball world.

However, the relationship has not always been rosy as it has also seen difficult moments due to Green’s volatile behavior, which has impacted the team at times. One significant low point occurred on October 5, 2022, when Draymond Green punched then teammate Jordan Poole, during a practice. Steve Kerr shared his feelings on the incident when he spoke on The Dan Le Batard Show.

Draymond and I are a lot alike in many ways. People probably wouldn’t see that from the outside. He crossed the line with Jordan and he knows it. He knew it immediately, and it made that season incredibly difficult for everybody… That’s probably the time I was most angry.

Although he has calmed down a bit, his on-court conduct has continued to be unpredictable since the Poole incident. He had faced two lengthy suspensions for in-game actions that were deemed unacceptable by the NBA which made his behavior a recurring issue for the Warriors.

Although he can be a loose cannon, his defensive game is crucial for the Warriors in the coming season if they are to recover from last poor performance. The Warriors begin the season with an away game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Much to the surprise of the audience and fans watching, without hesitation, he chose Golden State Warriors veteran star, Draymond Green. His pick was necessitated as a result of Green’s reputation for being overly physical on the basketball court. A trait that could make him a natural fit for professional wrestling.

Oh. I love him to death, Draymond Green.
