As per the ATP star, he likes Bryant and James’ easygoing attitude when they are not playing. However, at the same time, Tiafoe likes their competitive spirit when they are on the basketball court, playing as if they want to show the world what they can do.

I mean, you know, those guys like seeing them, they’re cool with their teammates, cool with their friends, but when it’s out there, like, you know, me and you are so tight. You know, we’re joking, right before we get out there, but it’s on, once we get on there. You know, I want to beat you, you want to beat me. But the best players in the world are, there are some actors where it’s like, it was certainly like that popcorn, maybe. You know, everyone stepped in and was like, I want to show the world what I can do.

Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Denzel Washington were watching the high-voltage clash. During that podcast with Nick Kyrgios, Tiafoe admitted that he was playing the biggest match of his career and had never been in such an atmosphere before.

The match, however, did not end in Tiafoe’s favor. The result of it did not come so easily as both the players were giving their all to reach the final.

The first set went to the American, but Alcaraz shifted the momentum when he won back-to-back sets. Tiafoe did not give up easily as he took away the fourth set 7-6. After winning the fifth set and eventually the match, Alcaraz reached the final and defeated Casper Ruud to lift his first Grand Slam trophy.

I think about it all the time, like even sometimes when I see the guy (Alcaraz), I just want to knock him out.

But Tiafoe checked himself and added that he couldn’t hit Alcaraz because he is one of the “nicest guys in the world.” The American, meanwhile, is currently participating in ATP Houston and will face James Duckworth in the Round of 16.
