Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is 45 years old and has been in the game for a while now. With that experience come bits and tricks that are not present in any handbook or tutorials. Jackson recently exposed one on his podcast with Manel Kape from back in the day when he was fighting in the octagon. Here is what happened:
Rampage Jackson recently sat down for a conversation with Manel Kape on the JAXXON PODCAST. During their conversation, Jackson and Kape revealed what fighters do to solve the problem of a slippery canvas. It is safe to say Rampage had a unique solution to the situation.
I put honey on the bottom of my feet… No, I’m serious, it’s that bad. Have you seen guys throw head kicks and they slip? If you really pay attention UFC people are moving and sliding around a lot. And the ones who don’t slip, they figure it out. They put stuff on the bottom of their feet.

A slippery canvas can be a big problem for fighters in the middle of a round. Rampage Jackson faced it during his time in other promotions as well. Slips can lead to injuries and someone losing the fight if an opponent takes advantage. It can also appear like they got dropped or knocked down and lost points in the process. Jackson is not the only one who is aware of this trick.
UFC veteran Michael Bisping revealed a similar trick a while back. In one of his tweets, he explained that experienced fighters would pour water on the canvas and then stand in it as it gives better traction to the canvas. He said it makes the feet grip the octagon floor better.
Manel Kape boasts about Street fighting skills to Rampage Jackson
Manel Kape was upset with Kai Kara-France after their fight got canceled last year. Kape recently revealed on the JAXXON PODCAST what happened between him and Kai Kara-France and why Israel Adesanya got involved. Kape and Kai Kara-France were supposed to fight at UFC 293 and Kape admitted that it was a big fight for him. However, Kai backed out because of a supposed concussion and his oncoming baby.
Manel Kape was not happy which is why when he saw him at the press conference, Kape threw a bottle at Kai. Now, Israel Adesanya and Kai Kara-France are very good friends, which is why Adesanya got involved in the confrontation, and Kape took offense to this. When Jackson pointed out how big Israel Adesanya was in real life, Kape did not indicate any fear.
I don’t give a f***, I’m stopping him… I think bro, you cr*zy? Put him in front of me in the streets we’re gonna see… Yeah he’s pretty good, I’m pretty good too bro.

Most people would think Kape is lying. He has won four of his six fights in the UFC and boasts a professional record of 19 wins and six losses. Now, Kape is a flyweight while Israel Adesanya is a former middleweight champion, which is a massive size difference. However, Kape said he does not care which puts an interesting prospect for a potential showdown between the two, even if it does not happen.
