At yesterday’s UFC 304 event in Manchester, Oban Elliott posted his seventh consecutive win on the trot. He saw off several takedown attempts made by American Preston Parsons to gain cruise control and eventually got the job done via a unanimous decision. Now he wants CM Punk to be his walk-out partner whenever he fights next. Elliott spoke to MMA Junkie after his victory.

He said that if the UFC puts him at Madison Square Garden next, he’d probably have CM Punk walk out with him. The 26-year-old iterated he wanted to come out to Hulk Hogan‘s or even The Rock‘s theme song at UFC 304 but was denied. Once he namedropped Punk, someone told him it’d be better if he saved that for Chicago. He wondered if they’d be traveling to Illinois anytime soon. Whatever it might be, the Welsh Welterweight said that Punk would be up for that.

With WWE and the UFC now merged under the TKO umbrella, these crossovers wouldn’t be hard to come. For instance, earlier this year on Raw, Michael Chandler was in attendance. He even called out Conor McGregor on camera. The fans will have to wait and see if Oban Elliott’s wish of having The Best in the World comes alive whenever he slugs next.

Or maybe I’ll get CM Punk walk out with me in MSG. I know he’d be up for that. Yeah, well, are we fighting in Chicago anytime soon in the UFC?… Yeah, but I’ll do that, and Punk will be with me.

As of now, CM Punk is preparing for his upcoming match against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam. He was recently spotted training for his highly anticipated in-ring return. Being his first one-on-one dance in WWE since 2013, The Second City Saint knows he has an uphill task ahead. Adding to his woes will be Seth Rollins, who’s going to be the special guest referee this Saturday in Cleveland.

If there was any taboo when CM Punk returned to WWE after a decade-long wait, it’s not the case anymore. He’s been well received by his backstage peers and fellow superstars, including the higher-ups, who’re elated at the business he’s doing for the company.

The Chicagoan also praised the existing WWE locker room in an interview with Ringside Collectibles. The 45-year-old was asked whether he’d like to lead a faction somewhere down the road. Not having outright denied it, Punk lauded the locker room, saying it’s the most fruitful and creative one he’s seen.

So if anyone walks to him with any of the ideas, he’ll have to listen to them. He went on to say that the pitches these days aren’t shot down and ignored. There used to be a ton of those during the Vince McMahon regime.
