French fighter Nassourdine Imavov has indicated what he wants next. After his last fight in February, Imavov called out Sean Strickland for a rematch. The Frenchman posted a warning video for the former champion and asked him to take the fight at UFC Paris.
Sean Strickland recently saw the video during an interview with RMC Sport. Soon, he blasted Nassourdine Imavov in typical Strickland fashion. The ‘Tarzan’ suggested Imavov to win his way up instead of making callouts. According to Strickland, any potential rematch ends the same way as their first fight.
You can be a f***ing woman all you want… but it doesn’t change the fact that I beat you and I’d f***ing beat you again. You ain’t getting a f***ing rematch… If you really want to settle this sh*t, we’ll settlle it anytime you are in Vegas. I f***ed you up once and you haven’t earned it. You won’t earn it…. I don’t look backwards.

Imavov fought Strickland at UFC Vegas 67, where he got outpointed by the American and ultimately lost the bout via unanimous decision. Originally, Imavov was scheduled to fight Kelvin Gastelum. However, due to some injury, Gastelum had to pull out. Strickland stepped in on a four-day notice and was 10 pounds heavier. As a result, the fight took place at light heavyweight, which Imavov lost.
Strickland is currently slated to fight Paulo Costa and is eager to beat the ‘dirty Brazilian‘ at UFC 303. On top of it, the fighter wants his next title shot and doesn’t seem interested in fighting Nassourdine Imavov. However, Strickland’s close teammate Chris Curtis might have some unfinished business with the Frenchman.
Why does Chris Curtis not like Nassourdine Imavov?
The bad blood between Chris Curtis and Nassourdine Imavov started at UFC 289. The duo competed in a three-round affair that ended in a no-contest due to an accidental headbutt. Since then, Curtis has called Imavov a dirty fighter through various tweets.
This took a severe turn during Nassourdine Imavov’s last bout against opponent Roman Dolidze at UFC Vegas 85. Dolidze was also from Xtreme Couture gym, and Curtis cornered the fighter. During the fight, Imavov landed an illegal kick on Dolidze, which led to him and Curtis having a verbal spat. This prompted the referee to warn Imavov of disqualification.
In the end, Imavov won the fight via majority decision. However, Curtis was not a fan of the result. After the fight, Curtis made an X post that mentioned everything Imavov did that he thought was illegal. Till now, Imavov has fought three fighters from Xtreme Couture, but he doesn’t seem to end it there. Imavov still seeks his rematch against Sean Strickland, which doesn’t seem to happen anytime soon.
