British tennis legend Sir Andy Murray has congratulated Novak Djokovic on his recent title win at the French Open 2023. This Grand Slam title marked the 23rd for the Serb, surpassing the previously shared record with Rafael Nadal. In the press conference at the Surbiton Challenger, Murray congratulated Djokovic on his wonderful accomplishment.
Andy Murray even joked about him hoping Djokovic ‘take his eye off the ball’ in the build-up to the upcoming Wimbledon tournament. He says, “I’m not saying he makes it look easy but he makes it look a lot more easy than it should. I am happy for him, he deserves it. ”
Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have a long-standing rivalry on the court and friendship off it, dating back to when they were 11 years old. During most of their clashes, the stakes have always remained high. For example, nineteen of their 36 ATP head-to-head- meetings have come in finals. Furthermore, 33 of their 36 meetings have also come from a Grand Slam, ATP Masters 1000, the Nitto ATP Finals, or the Olympics. In terms of their match records, Djokovic leads 25-11.

Besides, the Brit will be looking forward to his fourth grand slam appearance at Wimbledon next month.
Adding further to his praise for Djokovic, Murray said, “When he beat me in the final of the (2016) French Open he lost motivation so maybe he can take his eye off the ball for the next few weeks heading into Wimbledon! But congratulations to him – it’s an incredible achievement.”
Andy Murray is quite elated with his Surbiton Trophy win and thanks his family’s constant support in his achievement. Murray showed his gratefulness to his wife, Kim Murray, and his four children, who give him a reason to play the sport that he loves every day. He says, “It’s brilliant to win another one.
