Merab Dvalishvili is just a few days away from the biggest fight of his career. Just before facing Sean Oโ€™Malley at Noche UFC, the Georgian did an unexpected interview with former UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. However, that is not all. The two have even discussed the possibility of making one of their famous skits together. Here is what happened:

Alexander Volkanovski recently sat down for a conversation with Merab Dvalishvili on the โ€˜MAINEVENTโ€™ YouTube channel. During their discussion, Volkanovski brought up their shared interest of making skits and proposed a collaboration in the near future. Dvalishvili agreed to the idea which makes it interesting for fans as they can anticipate a bit from two of their favorite MMA fighters.

I would love to yeah. Now you tell me, I’m gonna think about it. Anytime, anytime. I can come to Australia and film something with you if you want.

Both UFC fighters have garnered attention for their humorous skits on social media. Dvalishvili often uses his comedic skills to poke fun at fellow fighters. One of his more popular skits involves him dressing up as a firefighter to โ€œrescueโ€ UFC bantamweight champion Sean Oโ€™Malley from a smoky buildingโ€”a playful jab at Oโ€™Malleyโ€™s well-known habit of smoking for marijuana.

Volkanovski, on the other hand, enjoyed reminiscing about his UFC career in his recent skit at a construction job, humorously retelling legendary moments from his career. These skits are hits because they show a more relatable side of the fighters. It also adds to the build-up for their upcoming fights, like Merab Dvalishvili who will fight for the bantamweight title in a few hours at UFC 306 in Las Vegas.ย

During their conversation, Alexander Volkanovski asked Merab Dvalishvili if he could tell the people anything about what the โ€˜Sphereโ€™ would be like during the fight. The Georgian acknowledged the unusual venue and the possibility of distraction but expected to maintain focus during the fight, despite the visual effects.ย

I don’t think they tell us anything special… I been at the ‘Sphere’, it’s a huge building like big screen ofcourse and a lot of lights. It’s a different building for sure. It’s not like an arena, it’s not stadium or something… will be different atmosphere, my opponent Sean O’Malley will be same thing so… this eay we both will be same situation.

For others, like Brian Ortega, the venueโ€™s atmosphere is more of a motivation than a distraction as he described the event as a โ€œbeautifulโ€ opportunity. However, fighters like Ignacio Bahamondes emphasized the need to mentally prepare for the overwhelming sensory stimulus, acknowledging that the Sphere could feel very different from traditional venues.
