Sharaputdin Magomedov debuted at UFC 294 against Bruno Silva but has not fought since. UFC had scheduled his fight with Ihor Potieria for UFC Saudi Arabia, but Potieria stepped in on short notice at UFC 301 against Michel Pereira. Magomedov had called out Pereira for a fight in Riyadh. Now, he has blasted the Brazilian on social media.
Unlike the Dagestani fighters in the UFC, Magomedov is not a wrestler. However, he is a dynamic striker, even though he is blind in one eye. After Pereira defeated Potieria, Magomedov went on a rant against the Brazilian. Now, he has yet again called out Pereira. However, this time, he criticized Pereira for his support of Israel in the conflict with Palestine.

The Brazilian has saved several dogs stranded and received applause from the MMA community for his endeavors. However, Magomedov called for double standards on it.

Pereira had walked out with an Israeli flag at UFC Vegas 81. Magomedov supports the Palestinian cause and thus found Pereira’s support of Israel contradicting his humanitarian efforts in Brazil. Calling out ranked contenders with threatening words is nothing new, as he had already done it with Marvin Vettori.

Sharaputdin Magomedov got into the UFC with an 11-0 professional MMA record. He had fought at welterweight, middleweight, and even a light heavyweight. Moreover, he finished 10 of those 11 fights via KO/TKO.

Nonetheless, the UFC didn’t entertain the fight as they booked Vettori to fight Brendan Allen. However, Vettori suffered an injury, had surgery, and is now recovering. The UFC planned to have Magomedov fight the unranked Ihor Potieria at UFC Saudi Arabia, but he is now without an opponent. The UFC has an exceptional fight card for the fight night.
Headlined by Khamzat Chimaev and Robert Whittaker, the event will break records. Magomedov was to fight Potiera on the undercard of the fight night. As it’s the promotion’s debut in the Kingdom, the UFC would likely rope in a short-notice opponent for Magomedov.
