The 2024-25 NBA season is just around the corner and many teams will begin training camps at the end of September. For the Memphis Grizzlies, it means reestablishing themselves as one of the top teams again in the Western Conference. As such, point guard Ja Morant is already super motivated for the new season.

The Grizzlies star dropped a teaser on Thursday on social media, to announce his return from injury. In the clip, Ja Morant could be seen putting in work on the court and gym as he gets ready for the upcoming season. Alongside Morant, others could be seen training hard as well. The footage seemingly suggests that the NBA star is really close to being 100% for professional action soon. The video started with a voiceover and a text, “How soon they forget…”

Last season, Morant played just nine games. This was because of the 25-game suspension he had to serve for brandishing firearms on social media. Following that, he missed the rest of the season with a dislocation to his right shoulder. It was then reported at the time that he would undergo surgery as a result.

Morant’s absence meant that the Grizzlies lost their lead superstar, which affected them this season. Nonetheless, the recent footage will undoubtedly warm the hearts of fans who can’t wait to see him back in action. Morant, when healthy, is a top 5 guard in the league. He is also one of the best point guards the league has ever seen after stars like Russell Westbrook.

Ja Morant was inducted into the Murray Hall of Fame earlier this year

Ja Morant was the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. He has certainly lived up to the expectations he came into the league with. Since then, he has shown great athleticism, leading to him clinching the Rookie of the Year award. Given that he is young, his achievements over the past few years are quite impressive.

The 25-year-old is also a two-time All-Star, an NBA second-team selection, and has even won the Most Improved Player award. But that’s not all. Morant was honored this year by being inducted into the Murray State Hall of Fame. Before pro basketball, he played for Murray State as part of the Racers from 2017 to 2019.

He was one of the top stars during his sophomore season. Morant had one of the most successful college careers and was one of the most hyped players before entering the draft. No doubt, his quality has been on display in the league. Last season, he averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds. Now, he will be looking to now bring Memphis its first NBA championship.
