Ian Garry has created a lot of haters in the MMA community, as well as fans and fighters alike. The undefeated Irishman is weeks away from his fight against recent UFC signee Michael “Venom” Page at UFC 303, headlined by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. Since the announcement of the fight by Dana White, things have gotten heated between Garry and Page.

Garry was dismissive of Page when he was going to make his UFC debut, picking Kevin Holland to beat him on his debut. After Page defeated Holland, he called out Garry, but the Irishman refused, citing Page’s lower ranking. Garry wanted to fight Colby Covington at UFC 303, but it did not materialize, and thus was willing to take on anybody. In the recent MMA Hour interview, Page blasted Garry.

I think he [Ian Garry] d*ck rides Conor McGregor. He’s kind of like the fake version of Conor McGregor. Like, if Conor McGregor was a natural, pretty woman, he’s like the BBL version—that’s just a bad BBL version.

After the fight announcement, Garry had sent a stern warning to Page. On the other hand, Page responded in kind with a hilarious video on social media. Page had wanted the fight to happen at UFC 304 in Manchester but stated Garry was insistent on fighting on the undercard of a McGregor-PPV.

Interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall had picked Page to prevail over Garry. Aspinall stated Page has underrated grappling, which will likely come in hand against Garry, who is now a teammate of submission specialist Charles Oliveira.

Michael Venom Page debuted in the UFC at UFC 299 against Kevin Holland. Page won the fight via unanimous decision in a fight where Brit confused the American with his dynamic striking. Even though he didn’t knock Holland out, Page severely rocked Holland.

Michael Venom Page has multiple highlight reel knockouts in MMA, particularly at Bellator. However, Page couldn’t replicate something like that on his UFC debut despite his impressive performance against Holland. Page reviewed his fight against Holland on his YouTube channel and sent a message to the fans.

I swear to you this was not one of my best performances, by far…This was almost a tired version of myself. I can’t wait to get to 100% myself because seriously, everyone’s in trouble.

Against Garry, Page is a slight betting underdog. However, he was a similar underdog when he fought Holland as well. Garry has shown he can leg kick effectively. The leg kick was one of the reasons why Page lost to Douglas Lima via knockout, the only loss via finish in Page’s MMA career.
