UFC middleweight Abdul Razak Alhassan is set to make his octagon return this weekend at the UFC Denver fight card. Ahead of the fight, the Ghanaian fighter was questioned about the current champion, Dricus Du Plessis. Surprisingly, Alhassan explained why he opposes Du Plessis and his ‘Real African’ statements.

Dricus Du Plessis‘s infamous rivalry with former champion Israel Adesanya was based on their African roots. ‘StillKnocks’ used the ‘Real African’ term to indicate that Adesanya left the continent to become the champion. This didn’t sit well with Abdul Razak Alhassan, who trains in Texas. According to Alhassan, Du Plessis was extremely ignorant with his choice of words.

I respect the things he’s done in MMA, but he’s a f*cking b*tch. He’s a f*cking a*shole for that word that he used. If he’s a f*cking real African and he lived in Africa, he would have never used that f*cking word. He’s a f*cking b*tch a*s to use that word, because if he was raised with the poor people in Africa.

Alhassan mentioned that he grew up poor and had to struggle a lot. The fighter stressed that any African fighter in his position would choose to go to a better place. His argument revolved around the fact that as a ‘Real African’ Du Plessis should have understood others’ struggles.

Initially, Du Plessis aimed to dethrone Israel Adesanya. However, he won the belt by defeating Sean Strickland. The rivalry is now back on track, with the South African defending his belt against Izzy at UFC 305. Adesanya has already vowed to humiliate the champion for disrespecting the ‘Three African Kings.’

Israel Adesanya had a fairly strong title reign in the UFC until he lost to Alex Pereira. Despite getting his retribution, Izzy was unable to keep the belt. Since then, the middleweight division has seen several champions. Now, the next title defense involves an All-African war between DDP and Adesanya.

Taking place in Perth, Adesanya is no stranger to the Australian crowd. Given the bad blood between both the fighters, Izzy is determined to get a win. According to the ‘Stylebender,’ the fight signifies a lot of his professional career.

I’ve learned a lot in the time I’ve been away. I’ve always been a patient guy if you’ve actually paid attention to what I’m doing, but I’ve got more patience now, more clarity. And I’m sure of what I wanna achieve in this last chapter of my game.

Adesanya recently uploaded training footage where he was looking sharp ahead of UFC 305. On the other hand, Du Plessis promised fans with an absolute banger and vowed to knock Izzy out in the early rounds. As such, the All-African war will have excitement and high-stakes all at once.
