Former middleweight champion, Sean Strickland cannot avoid controversy. Strickland just defeated Paulo Costa in a lackluster battle at UFC 302. Many fans and experts expressed their disappointment due to the pre-fight hype surrounding the bout. However, former UFC champion, Luke Rockhold took things to the next level.
Luke Rockhold recently sat down with Quinton Jackson on his podcast show where he talked about his animosity towards Sean Strickland. According to Rockhold, Strickland is fake and doesn’t have any idea what he’s doing.
I hate that guy. I see this f***** kid’s face, every time I see it, it’s f****** disgusting. He’s a fake little b****. Doesn’t even know who he is. I don’t think he believes in the sh*t he’s saying these days.

The rivalry between Rockhold and the ‘Tarzan’ goes way back to UFC 268 where the pair was supposed to fight. However, due to a back injury, Rockhold pulled out from the fight. Later a frustrated Strickland accused Rockhold of deliberately ducking. Later when the UFC veteran retired from the promotion, Strickland mocked him and called him an ‘uptight c****’.
It seems like since then both fighters have not settled their beef and with time it has gotten worse. Since retirement from UFC, Rockhold has fought in BKFC and Karate Combat. However, the fighter doesn’t mind coming back to the UFC in order to settle the score with Strickland.

Luke Rockhold’s last few fights in the UFC were not as he had expected. On top of it, the fighter had a scuffle with the UFC head honcho, Dana White. However, after his last fight, White promised not to say anything bad about Rockhold. However, now Rockhold wants a favor from the UFC CEO.

During his conversation with Quinton Jackson, Luke Rockhold mentioned that White shouldn’t let Sean Strickland become the champion again. The former champion suggested White to sign him so that he can fight Strickland.

The hatred between Strickland and Rockhold is palpable, and it’s the perfect recipe for a grudge bout in the UFC. Given Rockhold’s recent performances inside the octagon, this may not be the worst option for the promotion. However, everything is up to Dana White, who must decide whether he wants the fight to take place in the future.
