"He'll do whatever they say!" Dustin Poirier takes a dig at Michael Chandler's 'Dana White privilege' ahead of Conor McGregor fight

Dustin Poirier is currently on the fence about retiring from the UFC. However, the fighter is up-to-date about his fellow lightweights, particularly Michael Chandler. Despite not liking his decision to wait for the Conor McGregor fight, the ‘Diamond’ believes Chandler has Dana White‘s complete support.

During his latest interview with Ariel Helwani at the MMA Hour Show, Dustin Poirier went on a rant about Michael Chandler. ‘Diamond’ mocked the fighter for overestimating his popularity and wasting two years for the Conor McGregor fight. While many fans and experts have claimed that Chandler is ruining his career, Poirier doesn’t think White will allow that.

I think he’s got Dana White privilege too, So, he will be alright. They’ll take care of him, cause he’ll do whatever they say. He’s a company man.

While talking about the ‘Dana White privilege’, Dustin Poirier talked about having a completely different experience with the UFC. According to the fighter, he always had to fight with the promotion to get something and nothing was smooth sailing with him and White. On the other hand, White has himself claimed that Chandler is one of the greatest athletes he has ever worked with.

Chandler’s dream of the ‘red panty night’ came close to fulfillment at UFC 303. However, the fight was canceled after McGregor pulled out his name due to a toe injury. While many mocked McGregor for making a fuss out of a minor injury, Chandler was patient. When it comes to the waiting game, the fighter aces everyone. On the other hand, he does have leverage against the ‘Notorious’.

Michael Chandler’s grand plan to beat Conor McGregor mentally

Michael Chandler came into the UFC with a massive hype. The former Bellator superstar’s second-ever UFC bout was for the lightweight championship. However, the fighter lost his momentum and currently has more losses than wins in the promotion. For Chandler, winning his next UFC bout is extremely important given his current circumstances.

During a recent X interaction, a fan asked Michael Chandler his strategy to beat McGregor. While responding to the question, in the most Chandler fashion, the fighter claimed using fear to break the Irishman. According to the former Bellator champion, he can be the man who retires McGregor without even stepping inside the octagon.

However, while waiting for the McGregor fight, Chandler lost out on other opportunities. Currently, the fighter is trying his best to make it up. It started with calling out the lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and being rejected as the Dagestani wasn’t eager to fight. Nevertheless, with several speculations, it would be interesting to see what the fighter has in his future.
