After Team USA’s 3×3 men’s basketball team were sent packing from the Paris Olympics, tons of reactions erupted among fans. The USA got eliminated from the competition after facing a crushing defeat at the hands of the Netherlands. As basketball fans continue to comment on their early exit, NBA star Draymond Green has now joined the discussion.
Speaking in a recent episode on The Draymond Green Show, the Golden State Warriors star wondered why young players in the league were ignored and not selected for the 3×3 team that went to the Olympics. He pointed out that lots of talented players that would have made a difference are in the NBA. Green then went ahead to categorize the players he’s talking about, into two distinct groups.
Why are not young NBA players on the 3×3 team? Like, guys that A, has not gotten an opportunity to play on the national team yet. Or B, guys that may never get the opportunity.

Furthermore, the Warriors’ star proceeded to list all the players who would have been called up to the 3×3 team, if the decisions were up to him.

According to the 34-year-old, Team USA missed out on achieving Olympic glory and were eliminated as a result, because they failed to select young, talented NBA stars into the squad.
Top analyst predicts Zion Williamson to become next Draymond Green
Draymond Green is one of the most formidable stars in the NBA. It appears his reputation as one of the best in pro basketball, has made people pick him out as a gold standard for upcoming players in the league.
That was the case lately, when top sports analyst Kendrick Perkins predicted that young and upcoming Pelicans’ star Zion Williamson, to become just like the Warriors player in the near future. In an interview, Perkins said that he was convinced that Williamson could grow to become ‘bada*s’ defensively, just like Green is.
“If you’re asking me: Can Zion [Williamson] be a Draymond Green defensively? I believe he can… Can Zion be a top 5 shot blocker in the [NBA] with that athleticism? I believe that he can… I actually like it with Zion playing the 5.”
