UFC Denver just saw a blood bath during one of the fights in the main card. UFC veteran, Drew Dober took on Jean Silva in a highly anticipated lightweight bout. The fight ended with Dober suffering from a massive cut with blood pouring out of it. 

Drew Dober returned to the octagon after five months following his defeat to Renato Moicano at UFC Vegas 85. The American was in search of a victory to get back into the winning column but his dream was cut short. Throughout the rounds, Jean Silva showcased incredible striking and dominated the fight. He managed to get a nasty cut over Dober’s right eye. 

Silva had a plan of staying in distance and piecing up his opponent using his reach, the Brazilian executed it perfectly. Dober was helpless and kept getting hit with punches and kicks. In the last moments of the second round, Silva caught Dober with a spinning elbow, almost knocking out Dober. However, the fighter was saved by the bell.

Going into the third round, the octagon side physician checked Dober’s cut and cleared him to continue the fight. However, it didn’t last longer as referee Herb Dean stopped the fight as Dober’s cut intensified. Finally, the doctor stopped the fight, while giving Jean Silva the victory via TKO. 

Jean Silva’s incredible undefeated run in the UFC

Jean Silva gained entry into the UFC by performing successfully during the Dana White Contenders Series season 7. The fighter debuted against featherweight Westin Wilson and won by TKO. The ‘Lord’ recently competed at UFC 303 and defeated Charles Jourdain in the second round. With only a 15-day gap, Silva returned and delivered a dominant performance in his lightweight debut against Drew Dober.

After the doctor stopped the fight, Silva was emotional and couldn’t control his tears. The fighter shared a wholesome moment with Dober and showed great respect for the legend. In the octagon interview, Silva shared his fight plan.

In his last bout against Jourdain had missed the weight for which he apologized to UFC CEO, Dana White. The fighter also asked White to give him the Fight of the Night bonus for a bloody way with Dober. Nevertheless, fans loved Silva at lightweight, so it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the rising star.
