They took over four planes; two of them crashed into the World Trade Center buildings. The third one crashed into the Pentagon, and the fourth crashed in Pennsylvania.
Counting the 19 hijackers, 2,977 people were killed in the assaults. First responders and occupants of the buildings and aircraft were among the dead. Since the 9/11 tragedy, many people have come up with conspiracy theories. Some say it was an inside job; others claim Israel had an involvement and many more.
