Paddy Pimblett reveals dream fight in the UFC

Paddy Pimblett believes Ilia Topuria got lucky when he won the featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski. The two have shared a long-past animosity that does not seem to have died. The Liverpudlian recently addressed the undefeated featherweight champion on his YouTube channel and had some interesting things to say.

Paddy Pimblett talked about Ilia Topuria in a recent video on his YouTube channel. While reacting to fan questions, Pimblett came across one question that asked who he would pick in a fight between Max Holloway and “Hand Sanitizer” (Ilia Topuria). Pimblett said his pick was the same as everybody else’s and chose Max Holloway.

I think I’ve got the same as everyone. Everyone’s picking Max, know what I mean? Hand sanitizer boy’s’ scared to take the fight, doesn’t want to take the fight against Max because he knows what will happen.

Pimblett went on to say that ‘El Matador’ got lucky against Volkanovski because he fought him at the perfect time. Alexander Volkanovski stepped into UFC 298 to defend his featherweight title right after a first-round knockout loss against Islam Makhachev. Topuria knocked out the Australian in the second round of UFC 298 to become the new featherweight champion.

But where did this animosity rise from? It started back in 2022 right before UFC London. Ilia Topuria comes from Gregorian descent. The two almost traded blows at a hotel because of Pimblett’s controversial comments on social media about the Russo-Georgian war. Luckily, they were broken up before things got ugly. While it is unlikely that Topuria and Pimblett will fight anytime soon, the Liverpudlian does have some plans for his next UFC contest.

Paddy Pimblett will fight Bobby Green this July at UFC 304 in Manchester, England. Once he is done with Green, Pimblett has planned a potential showdown with Renato Moicano. Pimblett talked about it in a recent video on his YouTube channel.

Once I get through Bobby we’ll see what happens with Moicano. Everyone wanted to see me vs. Moicano, so once I beat Bobby let’s see where Moicano’s up to.
