The highly anticipated clash between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler has finally got some developments. Interestingly, as it seems, Chandler is moving on from the fight and is looking to face former lightweight Charles Oliveira. However, following that, the Irishman was seemingly displeased and sent out a scathing reaction to the news.

The fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler has been on hold for a long time now. However, amidst that uncertainty of the fight, UFC CEO Dana White casually announced Chandler wonโ€™t be fighting McGregor. Upon hearing that, the Notorious went on for another X tirade. As such, the Irishman even slammed for ducking out when they were close to their announcement.

Chandler saw that takedown getting stuffed and mauled and officially dipped. Little Fat P*ssy. I’m at the hard rock hotel Florida for the bare knuckle tonight. Got tested earlier today by DFSI. Give me my f*cking date!

Conor McGregor stated that he had been tested by the Drug-Free Sport International (DFSI), suggesting that he might return soon. This might be one of the reasons why the Irishman was unhappy with the announcement.

Interestingly, this is not the first time when McGregor was close to a comeback. The initially scheduled bout between him and Chandler was all set for UFC 303. However, with just a week left for the event, the Irishman pulled out because of an injury.

Michael Chandler grew frustrated upon hearing all this news and was annoyed by getting held up. Not only that, but even the Irishmanโ€™s recent activities also took a hit on his patience. As such, Chandler always showed his frustrations against that on his socials.

He wanted McGregor to consider their fight seriously and wanted him to focus on his recovery. However, now all of that seems to mean nothing as Chandler has made up his mind to face Charles Oliveira. The recent developments all but ensure that McGregor wonโ€™t be returning to the Octagon in 2024.

The potential fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler has been on hold for over a year now. Chandler, in particular, faced a lot of criticism for allegedly becoming an inactive fighter. Although he has three losses in his last four fights, Chandler is still considered one of the best fighters in the division.

I’m not even gonna respond to Conor’s stupid little tweet… You (Conor McGregor) are the most unreliable human being that has ever graced mixed martial arts…

With that being said, the fight between Chandler and Oliveira is in the works for the co-main event of UFC 309, according to several reports. However, now it remains to be seen who will the Notorious Conor McGregor face next. As for now, there might not be many options left in the division except a quadrilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.
