Colby Covington and Chael Sonnen share a strong bond, and their close friendship has become well-known. Recently, Sonnen found himself in a small beef with UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns. In response, Covington has stepped up to defend his friend and coach.
Burns recently leaked Chael Sonnen’s personal phone number on social media after he felt disrespected by the legend. As a result, Sonnen received several random calls and messages. Covington recently addressed this situation and blasted ‘Durinho’ for his ‘childlike’ behavior.
It all started when Sonnen discredited Burns’s UFC future and called him a retired fighter on ESPN’s Good Guy/Bad Guy. This made Burns angry which resulted in the whole situation. Covington doubled down on his rant by challenging the Brazilian for a fight to settle the score.

The ‘Chaos’ was quite pleased with his performance which he did without any training camp. Sonnen also supported his fighter.

Covington later revealed focusing on Donald Trump‘s election campaign, leaving little time for training. Despite this, he chose to step into the octagon purely to entertain his fans, a decision that drew criticism from many. Among the critics was UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, with whom Covington shares a longstanding and intense rivalry. Now, he is back to the drawing board awaiting the next challenge.
