Renato Moicano promised to spoil the French party in the UFC Paris headliner and was good on his vows. He smashed 155-pound standout Benoit Saint-Denis in the main event on Saturday night, to force an R2 doctor’s stoppage. As usual, if the hardcore pay-per-view and Tele-ticks were waiting for a viral post-fight interview — it did not disappoint. From the French President Emmanuel Macron to the pseudo-democracy, to Paddy Pimblett; all was fair game.
Moicano entered the second main event of his UFC career riding a three-fight winning streak and took the Frenchman on a ride. Just 23 seconds into the fight at UFC Paris (UFC Fight Night 243), Moicano took him down and subjected him to vicious elbows. While Benoit Saint-Denis did come back from the jumpscare and had a modest second frame, the Brazilian was just better. After the win, the 35-year-old diverted attention elsewhere.

Ultra-practical, and no fan of the Revolution that started the Democratic Liberal Republic, Moicano praised the culture of France. However, he said that getting rid of Jesus and attacking the Church in the French Revolution was a bad thing. He then politicized Prez Macron and “globalists”, saying democracy is a fallacy. After the centrist politician and 25th Prez, the UFC Paris star took the game to Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker.

Paddy Pimblett and he have been veering toward a lightweight clash for a while now. The Team Next Generation UK fighter has even called him out. Meanwhile, Hooker fought a hard brawl as part of the UFC 305 pay-per-view main card at RAC Arena in Perth and is quite the current draw. With this win, Moicano is still on course for a big paycheque – just the way he likes it. Now, it’s time for ‘easy money’ fight; just as he pleases.

After the accumulated effect of a brutal opening five-minute beatdown, the Brazilian is to be quite a draw. 20-5-1 MMA, and 12-5 UFC at the moment, Moicano has the playing field with his momentum. Other than that, he also proved just how well-read he is and his thrilling ability to cut a promo. His mix of active callouts and caricature of the French President together got hilarious feedback.
