Since debuting in WWE, Ricochet has been considered one of the top high-flyers that WWE has. Before coming to WWE, he had a lengthy run on the independent circuit. During that time, he wrestled the likes of Will Ospreay, Rey Mysterio, Kushida, and Matt Sydal. He also had a successful stint in NJPW and PWG before coming to NXT in 2018.
While talking to Mark Andrews on My Love Letters to Wrestling, the 34-year-old talked about his frustrations with the creatives in WWE. He pointed out that fans get a new Ricochet every week that he wrestles, and it does not matter if he lost or won in his previous match. Fans are not invested in his character due to the lack of a long-term storyline.
On the other hand, superstars like Rollins, Rhodes, or Styles have a story behind their matches. They get to talk to their fans and explain why they lost or won a particular match last week. This helps the superstars connect with the audience better. The former IC Champion does not get any of this and wishes that his character also gets a long-term storyline to prove his worth.
He believes fans will remember him for his excellent wrestling and high-flying abilities when he retires. That is something that not everyone can do in WWE. Ricochet is considered one of the top performers in WWE when it comes to in-ring skills and fast-paced wrestling.

While talking on the podcast, Ricochet talked about the possibility of having a dream match between Ospreay and current WWE Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
He said that Ospreay is busy with all his engagements right now, and his run in NJPW is going great. He does not think that the 30-year-old has a very slim chance of showing up at the O2 Arena and fighting Rollins. This was in context with the two having an exchange on Twitter where Seth Rollins challenged Will Ospreay for a match at MITB.
Ricochet added that Seth Rollins has a lot on his plate with the Heavyweight Championship. Therefore, the chances of the match happening are almost zero. He said that the “Forbidden Door” might not open between WWE and NJPW.
