Conspiracies in WWE isn’t a neoteric act. It’s been happening since the late 90s, and for some instances, it continues till date. Former SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long, recently disclosed one of his own. The guilty in that case was John Laurinaitis. According to Long, the former Johnny Ace cunningly set him up to expel him from the company.

To serve the purpose, Teddy was to Hawaii to officiate a match between Christian & Test. Supposedly, one of the superstars didn’t kick-out at the pinfall attempt at which Long was told so. Hence, after counting for two, he paused for a while, in a hope that the kick-out might happen. However, when it didn’t, Teddy counted down to three. It was then conspired by John that Long screwed up that finish & he fired him.

Long revealed this incident in a chat with The Wrestling Time Machine. He also said that Test was humbly apologetic towards him for not kicking-out at that juncture. That because he wasn’t aware that it was a part of underhanded tactics by the management. However, after that incident went down, John Laurinaitis called Long back for the role of a manager.

“What I did, I went and made the count, 1-2- you know … One of the guys didn’t kick out, so I went on down to 3, so they tried to say that I screwed the finish up, so Johnny fired me. I had the opportunity to see Test before he died, and he said, ‘Hey man, they set you up. I didn’t know that they were trying to get me to help them to fire you. And he said they wanted to bring me back to come in as a manager.”

Teddy Long returned to WWE earlier this year

Back in January this year, WWE commemorated 30 years of Monday Night Raw. They held a special night to mark the occasion in the history books. Multiple legends graced the auspicious event with their presence. One among them was Teddy Long. He interrupted a segment between Imperium and D-Generation X.

Just like the good old times, he showed up, booked a tag-team match and left. The crowd in Philly popped big for the unexpected appearance from the Godfather of Wrestling. Most recently, he was present at the WWE Draft last month. Appearing on both the nights, he helped announce the draft picks.
