Former Money in the Bank winner explains why it is so tough to unhook the briefcase in the match

Money In The Bank has been one of the most complicated match stipulations for over a decade. Many superstars have been injured while fighting for the briefcase that hangs in the middle of the ring. Former US Champion Baron Corbin reveals how difficult it is to unhook the briefcase during the match.

Baron Corbin won the Money In The Bank ladder match in 2017. This earned him a match for the World Title at any time of his choosing. During a match between John Cena and Champion Jinder Mahal, Corbin cashed in his contract in a losing effort. He became only the third wrestler to fail the cash-in.

WWE is currently in full force to promote their upcoming Money In The Bank premium live event in London, UK. WWE tweeted a throwback to the time when Baron Corbin won the MITB contract in 2017. Corbin retweeted the post, stating his own experience from the match. The 38-year-old revealed that during his college days, he could not understand why it was so difficult for the superstars to climb up the stairs.

Baron Corbin said that he understood the reason when he had to do it himself. The height of the ladder was more than he expected, and it wobbled a lot when anyone tried to climb it. Apart from that, he said that there were men lying around the ring, which made it even more challenging to climb the ladder. It makes things much more difficult for the person trying to climb to the top to unhook the briefcase.

Additionally, the chain on which the briefcase is attached also keeps swinging, according to Corbin. He recalled the entire experience as terrifying. From his perspective, the match is not at all as easy as it sounds. The 38-year-old reflected on the challenges that the ladder match poses.

The MITB ladder match has continued to be a major attraction for WWE since its inception in 2005. It would be a part of WrestleMania during the initial years. Only in 2010, WWE would establish a separate event for the match. This year will mark the 18th year of the traditional MITB ladder match.

The 2023 Money In The Bank event is scheduled to take place at the O2 Arena in London, UK. The event will be live on July 1st and is expected to have Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos in the main event of the night. Other matches for the night are Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor, Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio, and both MITB ladder matches.

The Men’s Ladder match line-up includes Ricochet, LA Knight, Damian Priest, Santos Escobar, Butch, and Shinsuke Nakamura. Currently, LA Knight is the favorite to win the match, according to sources and reports. Moreover, there has also been speculation about Damian Priest possibly winning it this year.
