One of the most beloved shows, Panchayat, made its triumphant return with its third season earlier this year. The charming series, set in the quaint town of Phulera, captured the hearts of viewers and took the internet by storm with its hilarious memes. Fans eagerly awaited news of the fourth season, and their patience has finally been rewarded – the new season is set to start filming on October 25, 2024.
A source close to the production shared with Bollywood Hungama, “The fourth season of Panchayat is gearing up to begin filming on October 25.” The report went on to reveal that the show will bring back its beloved characters portrayed by the talented ensemble cast including Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi aka Sachiv ji, Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey aka Pradhan Pati, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, and many more. Fans can also look forward to Pankaj Jha reprising his role as the conniving MLA and Swanand Kirkire taking on a crucial role this time around.
“The creators understand the immense anticipation surrounding the Panchayat series. It’s a rare gem of a web show that appeals to viewers of all ages, making it a perfect family watch. Earlier this year in August, director Deepak Kumar Mishra hinted at the exciting future of Panchayat in an interview with PTI. He disclosed that the popular comedy-drama series has plans for at least two more seasons, with production already underway for the fourth installment.
“We have mapped out Seasons 4 and 5 in our plans. Season 4 has a clear direction, and we have even bigger ideas for Season 5,” Mishra added.
Panchayat first premiered on April 3, 2020, with Season 2 following two years later on May 18, 2022. Season 3 continued the trend of a two-year gap between releases, leaving fans curious to see if the upcoming seasons will follow suit. The anticipation for Season 4 is palpable, and viewers can’t wait to dive back into the whimsical world of Panchayat once again.
