Erin Foster has dove headfirst into the world of Nobody Wants This season two, and she’s already brimming with excitement about what’s in store for season three.
The Netflix romantic comedy quickly captured the hearts of viewers with its tale of a ‘hot rabbi’ named Noah (played by Adam Brody) who sweeps an agnostic podcaster named Joanne (Kristen Bell) off her feet. Filled with humor, cultural nuances, and a love story that tugs at the heartstrings, the show’s popularity soared, prompting Netflix to order more episodes shortly after its debut.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Foster shared insights into the show’s future. She revealed that they had been hard at work on the second season for three weeks, and by the time the first season premiered on September 26, Netflix had already greenlit the next season.
Kristen Bell and Justine Lupe, who portrays Morgan, have joined the writing team to further develop the storyline. Bell expressed amazement at the enthusiastic response from viewers, comparing it to the frenzy she experienced with Frozen.
Foster recounted, “Kristen came into the room with Justine to hear some storylines that we were working on. And she says she hasnโt gotten a reaction to anything like this, literally, since Frozen.”
In Nobody Wants This, Noah grapples with his ambition to become the head rabbi at a prominent Jewish synagogue in Los Angeles and how it impacts his relationship with Joanne, whose faith differs from his own. Despite Joanne’s initial willingness to convert to Judaism for love, she ultimately decides against it in the final episodes.
When asked about the longevity of the series, Foster expressed a desire to keep the creative juices flowing and explore as many stories as possible. She hinted at the possibility of a third season, with other writers already brainstorming ideas for the future.
“Iโd like to keep working as long as possible, I suppose. There are countless stories waiting to be told. Itโs funny because weโre in the writers’ room, coming up with new storylines and saying, ‘Thatโs for season three. Thatโs for season three.'”
Rumors are swirling that season three may be on the horizon, thanks to the wealth of material the creators have amassed. With the show’s growing popularity and dedicated fan base, the future looks bright for Nobody Wants This.
