Brendan Schaub is not happy with the way the UFC is treating Tom Aspinall. The Brit has been calling for a fight against Jon Jones for a while now. The former UFC fighter believes that the Brit is being bullied and wants him to stand up for himself. Schaub made this bold statement after Aspinallโ€™s recent title defense at UFC 304.

On his YouTube channel, Schaub urged Aspinall to demand a fight against Jon Jones. Schaub emphasized that Aspinall is a special athlete and needs to start acting like one. He strongly opposed the idea of Aspinall being a backup for the Jones vs. Stipe Miocic title fight.

You’re a goddamn one per center, you gotta start acting like it. What I’m saying is, stick up for yourself, dude. Right now, you’re getting bullied.

Tom Aspinall recently defeated former rival Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. This was after multiple callouts to Jones for a title fight after he became heavyweight champion back in 2023. However, Jones has been out due to injury and will come back for a scheduled title fight with former champion, Stipe Miocic.

Aspinall is expected to serve as a backup for the Jones vs. Miocic fight. Schaub encouraged Aspinall to change his approach to secure the fight with Jones. He does not want the interim champion to go against the UFC. Rather he wants Aspinall to stand his ground and demand the respect and the title fight that he deserves.

Robert Whittaker warns Tom Aspinall against dangerous strategy

Robert Whittaker recently addressed the Aspinall vs. Blaydes showdown on the MMArcade podcast. Whittaker expressed that he loves the way the Brit fights. However, he did not like that Aspinall had been itching for the knockout a little too much in the first minute of the fight.

Using his chin as bait. In the heavyweight division, that is the most dangerous gamble. Iโ€™m not going to break down his technique or the holes and the reasons why he got hit, but I could see mentality-wise he was itching at the bit to knock Curtis out.

Out of his nine fights in the promotion, Aspinall has ended seven of his fights in the first round. All of them via knockout or TKO. Now that Aspinall is an undeniable contender for the UFC heavyweight title, it will be interesting to see how he fares in his next matchup in the octagon.
