Jiri Prochazka is understandably unsatisfied with what happened at UFC 303 against Alex Pereira. The former champion lost to Alex Pereira for the second time in the short-notice matchup. He recently addressed the loss on Instagram making an interesting declaration.
Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira headlined the main event at UFC 303. It was a last-minute matchup after Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler was pulled out due to McGregor’s last-minute injury. Prochazka sent out a video on Instagram where he acknowledged the need for improvement and even addressed potential retirement.
Hello everyone – thank you for all your support. Thanks to you Alex for the fight. You was better. And only one thing goes on my mind, that I need to evolve to the next level, or don’t fight again. So simple, to be the strongest, this is the way. Thank you. See you in the gym.

Poatan had a successful first round and even managed to drop the Czech fighter with the last punch of the first round. Subsequently, Pereira dropped Prochazka down with a brutal head kick right at the beginning of the second round. He followed it with a couple of punches on the ground before the referee intervened and stopped the fight. That marked the end of the much-awaited light heavyweight title rematch at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
They previously locked horns at UFC 295, competing for the vacant light heavyweight throne. ‘Poatan’ had similarly knocked down Prochazka in the second round and claimed the light heavyweight title. Having lost back-to-back against the champion, it is unlikely that we will see a trilogy fight anytime soon. Prochazka is likely up for medical suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission based on the nature of the knockout.
Fans react to Jiri Prochazka’s potential retirement announcement

Ultimate humility from an absolute true warrior.
Thank you for stepping up on short notice to save this card @jiri_bjp 🙏🏻I would love to see you compete at 185lbs. I believe your unorthodox style and power wins you another championship🏆

You still have a lot more left inside you.
Alex Pereira is just a true specialist and that power is insane. You have nothing to be ashamed about. You’re a role model to many and truly implement what it means to be a true mixed martial artist.
I hope this isn’t it but whatever…

Bro you look awkward only when you fight Alex. Everyone else you dominate with ease. You could beat up anyone but Alex it’s crazy he’s kyrptonite. Keep up the hard work champ.

Jamahal Hill could learn something from this. Great honesty Jiri! You will be back. Youre a warrior!

I think I know what the next improvement is. Your centerline is not stable while hitting and you cannot deliver your maximum power. Have a look into shutetsu to fix that 👊
