GTA Online has announced the upcoming release of the San Andreas Mercenaries update, set to launch earlier than the usual summer updates. The update will allow players to join forces with mercenaries and ex-pilots to take down the corrupt organization Merryweather. In addition to new missions and activities, Rockstar has teased three new vehicles that will be added to the game.
The first of these new vehicles is a classic F-35 Lightning fighter jet, which will be the first aircraft added to the game in two and a half years. The second is a brand new muscle car, based on the Dodge Charger EV in real life. This is unique, as both EVs and muscle cars are criticized for their bad handling, and it will be interesting to see how this new vehicle performs. The EV muscle car also features armor plating, and will likely be an Imani Tech vehicle.
The third teased vehicle is a military-grade SUV, which looks like a mix between a Mitsubishi Pajero and a Range Rover Defender. With all its customization, it will likely be a great addition to the SUV or off-road class in the game.
Rockstar has not revealed the names or manufacturers of any of the new vehicles. Along with the vehicles, the update will also include a new alternate sprint control option.
The San Andreas Mercenaries update is set to spice up GTA Online after a dry spell of almost two to three months, and is sure to bring excitement to the virtual streets of San Andreas.
