Johnson has recently taken over the internet by announcing the release date of his new live-action movie, Moana.
Moana is a remake of the eponymous musical animated movie by Disney. This remake is also being released under Disney Studios, which will highly feature the Polynesian culture of Hawaii. The film is in the very early stages of production. It is produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia under the banner of their Seven Bucks Production.
The Rock announced the much-awaited information through a tweet. It starts with Moana’s dialogue stating that our strengths sometimes lie beneath the surface. Dwayne Johnson was excited and humbled as he stated that the movie would release on June 27, 2025.
Johnson is set to reprise his role as Maui, while casting for the lead character of Moana is still in progress. The animated movie had him voice the character of Maui, and hence he was considered perfect for its on-screen portrayal.

Moana takes references from Dwayne’s original culture and symbolizes the Polynesian people’s warrior mentality and graceful nature. The animated movie’s fans would love to see this live-action remake for nostalgia purposes. Moreover, the WWE Universe will also enjoy the movie as it features The Rock.

After all these hits, The Rock held on to the spot of highest-paid entertainer for years on the Forbes list.
Despite starring in two DC movies in 2022, he descended from the top spot as the highest paid actor in the recent Forbes list. The former WWE superstar is nowhere to be found in the Top 5. He was brought down by Peter Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, and Jay-Z as they respectively took the podium on Forbes’ list.
