There have been ongoing concerns about the physical and mental state of UFC star Nick Diaz. This is particularly in the wake of his TKO loss to Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. Following the fight, Lawler even reached out to Diaz, offering to support him and asking if everything was going well. Now, the Stockton prideโ€™s girlfriend adds to the woes ahead of his Vicente Luque matchup at UFC 310 in December.

A recent video posted by his rumored girlfriend, Kay, has left many wondering whatโ€™s happening with him. The video, posted on X, shows a man who looks like him crouching behind a bush in a public area, appearing to set objects alight. When called out to, he answers as Nick Diaz. Recently, his girlfriend took to Instagram to post a cryptic message suggesting that Diaz may be struggling to cope.

It came as a shock to fans. Diaz was supposed to be preparing for his rematch with Vicente Luque from Augustโ€™s UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi. There are serious concerns about his downtime since 2021 despite his enormous cardio.

His fight with Lawler was moved from welterweight to middleweight at the last minute and ended with Diaz refusing to stand up in the third frame. The former Strikeforce champion had barely trained for the fight and fought with a badly injured neck.

Going into the UFC 310 pay-per-view (PPV) card, there are running sentiments about whether such a Diaz would return. Adding to the woes, such social media updates do not help at all. Despite being a legend in the game, the Stockton star last tasted a win in October 2011. The video that started this all does not instill confidence that he can return to a winning streak like that.

When a Nick Diaz grass video is not what one would expect

Itโ€™s been a hot minute since Nick Diazโ€™s last fight. Fightersโ€™ preparation methods are always evolving; now, it takes some outdoor action. The Stockton brothers and pioneer gangster lighting some grass on fire usually means some weed-fuelled antic. But nobody in their wildest dream would consider having any of the Diaz brothers lighting actual grass on fire on their bingo card!

A social media video (H/T @ParryPunch) shows a shirtless man, believed to be Diaz, attempting to light a piece of grass in landscaping outside a store. In the video, a woman calls out to โ€œNickโ€ and asks him if heโ€™s all right. To which he subsequently replies twice that he is. The fan clique decided to make neither heads nor tails out of it.

If Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) does seem to bounce back from whatever is in that grass, he takes on Vicente Luque (22-10-1 MMA, 15-6 UFC) at UFC 310 pay-per-view (PPV) billing in Las Vegas. This would be his first fight in over three years and his third in the past decade.

Diaz has also failed to win since defeating BJ Penn at UFC 137 in October 2011. Since then, he has lost three straight bouts to Carlos Condit, Georges St-Pierre in a title fight, and Anderson Silva, which later flipped due to drug pool troubles. Itโ€™d be a tough gig to roll back into the 11-fight winning streak infamy that he had in Strikeforce and UFC. But despite oddities, the older Diaz brother remains a top draw.
