The Memphis Grizzles suffered a poor defeat to the Golden State Warriors in an NBA Cup matchup on November 15. Warriors’ star Draymond Green grappled with Grizzlies rookie 7’3 Zach Edey during the game. Green seemingly held Edey by his feet during a particular play. This led to the NBA upgrading the foul to a flagrant 1 after the game.

However, it was the Grizzlies coach, Taylor Jenkins, who pissed off Green more than Edey. The Warriors veteran discussed Jenkins’ post-game remarks on the most recent episode of The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis. Additionally, it was obvious that he was unhappy with Edey and Jenkins’ handling of the matter. Green also told Edey to ‘shut up’ in the aftermath of the foul.

You got janky Taylor Jenkins, who’s a softie- bro, this is game 11. You running to the media crying about a foul, that- come on, bro… So guess what you just taught your 7’3″ rookie? How to be emotional and run to the media talking about a foul. We bigs! We big men! You don’t run to the media talking about a foul. You a big man!

For context, Green was on his way to the basket with the ball five minutes into the third quarter when he stumbled. Green landed on his side in the paint to Zach Edey’s right, then flipped over and used his left leg to hold Edey’s two feet to the ground. Edey and Green fell to the ground as a result. Many termed this foul as malicious from Green.

Green is known for his aggressive approach in the game. However, this has also led to his downfall at times. For example, just this past season Green was ejected several times which hampered the Warriors’ defense, leading to a poor finish to the 2023-24 NBA season. His side will hope Green does not do the same mistake this season.

Kendrick Perkins and Co. call for Draymond Green to be ‘suspended’

After witnessing Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green‘s harsh foul on Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey, many were left upset. Former NBA players like Kendrick Perkins, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe, and Stephen A Smith were a few who did not enjoy Green’s antics toward Edey. Kendricks slammed the Warriors star.

I actually think Draymond [Green] should be suspended for an extended period of time… This could have been a season-ending injury [for Zach Edey]… There’s no room, no place in our game for those type of actions.

, Kendrick Perkins said in a recent segment of the First Take Show

In addition to this, Smith and Sharpe also agreed with Perkins’ remarks regarding Green. However, Green took a slight jab towards these remarks. This was during his recent segment of his podcast. He slandered Edey to ‘run to the media’ after a soft foul. Thereby, he took a jibe toward Perkins, Smith, and Sharpe in the process.
