The LA Wildfires are showing no intentions to stop as winds are continuously helping it spread. So far, the fires have engulfed over 5000 structures in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was one of those affected by this calamity.

The four-time NBA Champion as a coach had earlier given an update that his 90-year-old mother was evacuated from their childhood house in the Pacific Palisades. At the time, he did not have much knowledge about the situation in the area.

The Pacific Palisades were one of the worst to suffer from the LA Wildfires. Reports came out that almost all houses and additional structures were burnt down to ashes. Ahead of tonight’s road game against the Detroit Pistons, when reporters asked about the situation, he revealed.

It’s been tough. My family is fine, my mom is in good hands. But her house is gone, and I’ve been on the phone with my siblings quite a bit. The town looks like it has just been completely wiped out. It’s surreal and devastating. It’s hard to even fathom how Pacific Palisades rebuilds and how it becomes a thriving community again. It’s just shocking.

Steve Kerr said

Steve Kerr added that most of his friends and family members have lost their houses to the LA Wildfires. In losing his childhood neighborhood, he lost a lifetime of memories. His father bought the house in 1969, and he grew up there.

He revealed that he was at his mother’s house two weeks ago for dinner. They also just celebrated her 90th birthday and had 100 guests over. Now all that remains are ashes. Kerr was distraught when talking about it, as now the only things remaining from Pacific Palisades were memories.

With the conditions worsening in the city, the NBA postponed tonight’s home game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets. That move possibly helped players and staff who have been affected by the LA Wildfires. Shams Charania updated on coach JJ Redick‘s situation, who’s house is in the Pacific Palisades.

Tragic fires in L.A. have impacted so many, including Lakers personnel such as head coach JJ Redick who lost his home.

Shams Charania wrote

Redick had updated earlier that his family and extended family had vacated their properties in the affected area. However, at the time he too had no idea about the extent of damage. Now Charania’s update confirms JJ Redick lost his home.

Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard also has a mansion in the area. He had managed to evacuate his family, however, no updates have come about his situation. He was set to return to start his season, but the situation has delayed that.
