Lou Williams has played for 17 seasons in the NBA. The three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year has played with the best of the best and knows how to spot a great sense of intelligence. He did not feel the same when he was asked his opinion about Donald Trump‘s $400 gold sneakers. Williams felt it made no sense if black votes were his target for the upcoming US Presidential Elections.
Lou Williams was approached by TMZ Sports at the LAX airport. When asked about his opinion on Donald Trump’s $400 gold sneakers would garner him political capital among the Black community, Williams said;
If that’s your intention, I think you’re in the wrong place and I think you’re a little misled on thinking how intelligent we are to see this coming a mile away.
Williams added that the sneakers were not even good enough for Black people to purchase them. He continued;
We talking about sneakers opposed to the direction that our country is gonna live in and where our kids and how our children are gonna grow up in this world and the leadership that follows that.
Williams would prefer if Donald Trump took a stand to fix the country’s myriad number of issues. Rather than offer the black community materialistic things, Trump should fix their problems.
The NBA Sixth Man of the Year believes that the Black community needs a leader whom they can look up to. If Trump wants to be that, then he needs to talk about their issues, which he will address after he is voted in. Trump needs votes from the Black community to win the upcoming US Presidential Elections.
The Black Community needs to feel that Trump will provide real-life solutions for their problems. Else it will be difficult for them to even think of supporting his campaign.
Donald Trump and the NBA community’s wrath
The NBA community is not a fan of former President of the United States and current presidential candidate Donald Trump and vice e versa. Time and again, both former and current players have been vocal about their displeasure about Trump.

Lou Williams is also not a fan of Donald Trump. But he gave a mature suggestion to Trump. Williams wants Trump to give people solutions to their problems. Rather than giving them a caveat in the form of sneakers.
