2024 presidential candidate and ex-POTUS Donald Trump is trying his best to get the attention of the young demographic. As a result, he has been participating in several podcasts and recently collaborated with popular podcaster and comedian Theo Von. During the conversation, the pair talked about UFC and, subsequently, about lightweight veteran Dustin Poirier.

In the main event, Islam Makhachev defended his belt against challenger Dustin Poirier. While discussing the fight with Theo Von, Donald Trump mentioned that he was highly impressed by the ‘Diamond.’ According to Trump, despite the loss, Poirier fought like an absolute warrior.

Theo Von was also present at UFC 302 and sat right behind Trump and mentioned that he supported Poirier. It was definitely one of the most grueling title fights in recent times. Both fighters put on a humongous show and put everything they had in order to take a win. In the end, Islam Makhachev submitted DP, but the Louisiana native won praise due to the display of his heart.

After that, Poirier announced his retirement but still wasn’t sure about his decision. It was the same event where Trump met his favorite fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and talked about stopping the Israel-Palestine war. Trump is a huge fan of the sport and has watched it for many years. Moreover, he shares a close relationship with UFC CEO Dana White.
