Donald Trump-paint scheme returns to NASCAR despite the political ban

The following paragraph explores the topic of…

NASCAR banned paint schemes that directly advertise political ideologies, candidates, or parties in 2020 after controversies surrounding multiple paint schemes. Cup series driver Corey Lejoie’s ‘vote for Trump’ paint scheme was among them. Since the ban, no teams have fielded cars with direct political messages.

But, with the elections around the corner, Truck Series driver Tim Viens has found a way to surmount the ban and is set to drive a car with a paint scheme supporting former US President Donald Trump. Viens has announced the ‘TRUMP Winery’ paint scheme through his official Twitter handle. Using the brand name instead of the former president’s name helped him to work around the ban.

Tim Viens will drive the ‘TRUMP Winery’ Toyota Tundra at the upcoming Talladega Truck series race. The race is scheduled to take place on September 30th. It will not be the first time Veins drives a car with the Trump brand. He did it in 2020 before the eventual ban. He has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and has often voiced his support for the Republican Party leader.

Viens will drive the No:47 G2G Racing (Glory to God Racing) Truck. He owns the team fielding two part-time entries in the series since 2022. It will be Viens’s second attempt at starting a race at the superspeedway. His first attempt came back in 2022 when he failed to qualify for the main race. His only start so far in 2023 came in Kansas, which saw him finish the race at P36.

What Tim Viens had to say about the new paint scheme?

The GEG Racing owner was clear about why he chose to race the Trump brand Truck. He wrote that he had been an active Trump supporter and had previously driven cars with political advertising. He welcomed the fans to follow his journey with new sponsors he has.

“My name is Tim Viens, I am a staunch Trump supporter. I drove the TRUMP 2020 Truck in the NASCAR Truck Series before NASCAR banned political advertising. I will be back with a new sponsor this year. Talladega, I think you will like it! Follow my journey, God Bless,” he tweeted.

Trump Winery is a winery owned by Donald Trump and run by his son Eric Trump. It is in Trump Vineyard Estates in Virginia. It has been owned by the Trump family since 2011. The company claims that the 227 acres vineyard is the largest in the state of Virginia and the largest French vinifera on the East Coast.
