This offseason, the Sacramento Kings acquired DeRozan through a sign-and-trade deal with the Bulls. Recently, DeRozan’s new teammate Domantas Sabonis shared his thoughts on the acquisition.
Sabonis, speaking at his first youth basketball camp, was asked by reporters about DeMar DeRozan‘s potential impact on the Kings and concerns regarding his age. The player dismissed any worries about DeRozan’s age, expressing confidence in his new teammate despite him being 35 years old. He praised DeRozan’s work ethic and dedication, highlighting how hard he works regardless of his age.
I mean, he doesn’t look (old). Working with him and how hard he works and how he takes workouts seriously at that age, you really can’t tell. … I think he makes my life easier. I just got to keep doing my job and having him on the court is gonna give me a lot more options.

DeRozan is coming off a productive season with the Chicago Bulls, where he averaged 24.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. His offensive skillset will certainly be valuable to the Kings in the next season.
