After being hospitalized and suffering from a serious illness, Khamzat Chimaev is back in training. In fact, the Chechen fighter recently went viral for sparring with a Russian YouTuber. As expected, Chimaev thrashed him inside the octagon, but it didn’t get a positive response from fight fans.
In the video, Khamzat Chimaev destroyed the YouTuber who dared him to spar. This video was released almost a month after Chimaev pulled out of the UFC Saudi Arabia main event against Robert Whittaker. The fight had an immense buildup, given the popularity of Chimaev in the Middle East. However, his non-participation became a significant letdown for fans.
After Chimaev pulled out, UFC chose Ikram Aliserov as a last-minute replacement for Whittaker. The Australian accepted the challenge and won by knocking out Aliserov in the first round. It was an excellent opportunity for the ‘Borz’ to advance in rankings, but he passed it up.
Chimaev is undefeated in the UFC, and his last fight was a majority decision victory against former welterweight champ Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. Fans have frequently asked the fighter to be more active, but his illness remains a hindrance. Now, seeing him lively and healthy while fighting random YouTubers was not what fans anticipated of the Chechen warrior.

Aside from his recent withdrawal from the Saudi Arabia bout, Khamzat Chimaev has found himself embroiled in another huge controversy. The fighter was accused of insider trading and scamming his followers with his cryptocurrency. Although Chimaev’s manager cleared the air and disclosed that the fighter wasn’t aware of all this, it did cast Chimaev in a negative light.
