"Doesn't matter if you're boy or girl…" Sabrina Ionescu drops amazing quote after almost-beating Steph Curry in 3PT contest

The second day of the NBA All-Star weekend in Indiana was special. The day was filled with multiple contests that showcased the basketball talents of some of the best players in the league. But the most talked about matchup was the 3-point contest between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu.

This was the first time an NBA player and a WNBA player competed against each other. After the matchup, Ernie Johnson interviewed both Curry and Ionescu. He asked Sabrina about how she felt after the matchup, she talked about how through her platform she can encourage more young players to be their best without any barriers regarding their gender. She said,

If you can shoot, you can shoot. It doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl.

She also talked about how this will not be the last the viewers will get to see something like this. This matchup will be in the history of the NBA. Sabrina shot from the NBA 3-point line which is farther than the WNBA 3-point line. This speaks volumes about the player she is and how it truly nothing matters for a good shooter.

Sabrina lost the challenge to Steph by just 3 points. But she scored 26 points which was also Damian Lillard’s score who won the NBA 3-point contest. This means she scored the 2nd most points in all of the 3-point contests that took place on Saturday.
