Devin Booker gives Kevin Durant ‘Captain America’ status after becoming greatest scorer in Olympics history

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers in the history of basketball. Durant is a part of the current Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was out with calf strain in the pre exhibition games but made his return at the start of the group stage of the Olympics against Serbia.

Since his return to the team, Kevin Durant has added a great offensive approach to the team. In USA’s recent game against Brazil, Durant posted 11 points and four rebounds and Team USA won the game with the final score of 122-87. During the game Durant became the all-time leading scorer for Team USA basketball in both men’s and women’s participants, passing WNBA star Lisa Leslie. Durant now sits at the top of the leaderboard with 494 points.

Durant’s Phoenix Suns teammate Devin Booker was interviewed after the game against Brazil. During the game, he was asked about Durant becoming the all-time leading scorer for Team USA, to which Booker stated that the current USA team has a responsibility to get Durant his fourth gold medal in the Olympics.

That’s Captain America status, I feel like he has every record, every Olympic record. Now we have to get him his first gold. That would be the most as a men’s player also. He’s a hard worker, man. Now that we’re teammates, I get to see it behind the scenes. All he cares about is hoops.

Booker recorded 18 points and three assists against Brazil. Even Booker has been a great offensive tool for the USA and has shown great playmaking skills. The current Team USA are the favorites to win the gold. They will be facing many tougher teams in the next coming matchups like France, Germany and Serbia.

Nike pays tribute to Kevin Durant after he accomplishes new milestone

Kevin Durant is one of the most decorated USA basketball athletes. He has many records under his name and recently added a new one as he became the all-time leading scorer for Team USA in both male and female participants. He crossed Lisa Leslie who previously had the record under her name.

After Durant reached a new milestone, Nike released a tribute video for Durant. The brand wasted no time and posted their new tribute video which was narrated by Deion Sanders. The video talked about how Durant has dominated the Olympics for the last few years.
