Michael โ€˜Venomโ€™ Page made a victorious UFC debut. However, he faced his first loss in the promotion when he fought Ian Garry at UFC 303. But that has not dimmed his hopes of making big moves in the division. In his latest interview, the Bellator star has called out #1 welterweight contender Kamaru Usman to a showdown, for one particular reason.

Michael Page recently sat down for a conversation with Michael Bisping. During their discussion, Page addressed his loss at UFC 303. He stated that he is simply one win away from being back to where he used to be. As for his next probable opponent, Page promptly named former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

I still feel like I hold weight…, it’s one small win and I’m back in the same coversation again. I would still go for somebody like Usman, he’s No.1 ranked. The reason I keep saying this is because he doesn’t seem to be in line for a fight.

While Pageโ€™s name did not come up, Usman will likely continue his career in the welterweight division for now.

The story in this though is what Chute Boxe is and that is where Ian Garry should be happy that his loyalty lies within that team… If that broke kid or that kid who has very little or that kid who may be poor says no, my relationship with my teammate means more. That is where you lie your head on.

Cormier also said that Garry should offer Terra some money. Ian Garry has been notorious for constantly changing coaches and training gyms. Even โ€˜MVPโ€™ pointed this out before their showdown saying that it could be the reason for the Irishmanโ€™s potential loss. Now, it will be interesting to see if Garry sticks Chute Boxe or changes camp once again in the future.
