Throughout the seven-game series against the Celtics, Caleb Martin stood out by averaging an impressive 19.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 3.1 triples per game, shooting at an impressive 48.9 percent from beyond the arc. Green also suggested that Butler himself would have preferred Martin to get the MVP award.
Green went beyond the MVP debate and criticized the Boston Celtics’ performance in Game 7 against the Miami Heat, questioning whether their performance would become their modus operandi when faced with challenging situations. While the Celtics managed to secure a victory in Game 6 of the series, Green noted that they had lost every other crucial game. The Celtics will need to address these issues in the future to strengthen their consistency and mental toughness.
