UFC Edmonton was a huge success, showcasing an incredible lineup of fights. Although the card suffered a setback when heavyweight icon Derrick Lewis had to withdraw, his spirit was very much alive in the arena. Jasmine Jasudavicius delivered a tribute to Lewis, embodying his hilarious personality and keeping the crowd entertained in his absence.
Jasmine Jasudavicius did not face much trouble and stopped flyweight veteran Ariane da Silva. She won the fight via submission in the third round. After winning the bout, she hilariously quoted Lewis’s iconic, “My balls was hot,” during the octagon interview with Daniel Cormier. As soon as the crowd heard the iconic words, they went wild with loud cheers.
Jasudavicius had a competitive fight against Ariane da Silva who started off with her striking. However, the Canadian used her wrestling to counter it and controlled most of the fight, ultimately getting a D’Arce choke. These types of finishes are rare and the last time fans saw it was from Islam Makhachev against Dustin Poirier.

However, apart from all that, Jasudavicius ‘ tribute to Lewis was definitely the highlight of her fight as fans missed the ‘Black Beast.’ While the knockout artist has promised not to further use profanity in his interviews, the influence remains undeniable. On top of that, Lewis might have some unfinished business with an old rival, which would need to be settled soon.
Derrick Lewis didn’t see Daniel Cormier after the latest insults
The rivalry between Derrick Lewis and Daniel Cormier goes way back to 2018 when the pair fought for the heavyweight title. Ahead of the fight, Lewis accused DC of mocking Popeyes chicken, which started their long-standing banter. However, things have taken an interesting turn in the last few days.
However, recently before pulling out from UFC Edmonton, during the media day, Lewis blasted DC by calling him a ‘piece of sh**’. It was out of nowhere, which caught the fans off guard. Cormier recently reacted to the call-out and said he has no idea what happened. Check out what the exchange was below.

While Lewis looked like he was joking, it wasn’t for sure and DC was confused too. Unfortunately, the two fighters didn’t cross their paths at UFC Edmonton. The Black Beast withdrew from his fight due to an undisclosed reason. As such, Cormier didn’t see Lewis and didn’t get to squash the beef.
