The trade market was literally on fire when it was revealed that DeMar DeRozan’s time was up at the Chicago Bulls. Not to the surprise of fans who have been following his game, he became one of the most sought-after free agents before he joined the Sacramento Kings after weeks of intense negotiations.

In a recent interview on the Podcast P show with Paul George, DeMar DeRozan revealed that winning was his top priority. As such, it influenced his decision when he put pen to the deal that took him to the Kings. He also disclosed that he considered four other teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, before he ultimately made his choice.

I had to wait for what you were gonna do, first of all… I was just looking for an opportunity just to win at a high level, wherever that would be. Everybody knew I’m in a place where I just want to win… Philly, definitely was an option. Lakers… always. Clippers… And the Heat.

To the excitement of the basketball world, DeRozan signed a three-year, $77 million deal with the Kings, where he will team up with stars, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Good news for the Kings fanbase as this marked the biggest addition they have made in NBA free agency.

The Kings are looking to build on their success, and DeRozan’s arrival is a significant step towards achieving their goals. Last season saw them make the play-in tournament where they inflicted a heavy blow on the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, they then got eliminated in the next round by the New Orleans Pelicans.

A video made the round on social media that showed DeMar DeRozan training with USC point guard JuJu Watkins. As expected the video of their workout session sparked extreme curiosity about what they both worked on.

Putting everything to rest, DeRozan revealed that he’s excited to see Watkins showcase the skills they developed together in her sophomore season. Watkins emerged as one of the top players in women’s college basketball last season and as a result of her quest for more reached out to DeRozan to learn from him.

Me just giving her different looks of knowing how she goin’ be played this upcoming year. Because she killed everybody last year. So, now everybody goin’ be prepared on how to guard her. So, all the cool s**t wasn’t seen.

Last year Watkins finished the season with 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game and she found a great mentor in DeRozan. Now with DeRozan motivated by winning, Watkin can learn one or two things from the mid-range master.
